You may have figured this out by now but...Maemere changed names a few times, Sea Panther was one of them but Big Pebble was not. Now she is named High Spirits and is owned by Hornblower Yacht Charters in San Diego. <http://www.hornblower.com/fleet.asp?port=sd> I too was once a crew on her and I really did love that boat. When I worked on her she was owned by a Texas banker and we did a lot of entertaining in Washington DC and Ft Lauderdale in the mid "80's. We had a great time on board. Her upper pilothouse stood out from the other Mathis Trumpy's of her time and cruising up the ICW and looking out from her helm was a blast. I'm glad she is still around but a little sad that she's being used as a dinner harbor cruise.

we lived in stone harbor, nj in the early 40's. during the winter we heard radio communications on our short wave radio from the Big Pebble. The yacht moored in our small basin overnight and was quite a thrill for me(4 years old and my 9 year old syster). I guess the year was 1946, give or take.

I sailed on the Sea Panther in 1962. It was the most glorious yacht I'd ever seen. The owners daughter and I were friends. I've just seen a picture of her old and today. And yes, she sails dinner cruises. www.classicyacht.org/gallery. I hope that will bring you to the picture of her.

My father was just a very young boy and has very fond memories of being on the Maemere as the Captain's son. I have some lovely photographs taken in the early 30's of the yacht and Captain Bahrt. I have a picture of him with some of the crew, but have yet to confirm that it is the crew of the Maemere as he also worked on another vessel. I would love to connect with those who have been crew or guest on the ship over the years and compare/share photos and memories. My grandfather (Captain Bahrt) passed away when my father was just 6 and being aboard the Maemere was a big part of the memories of his father. I know it's been a long time since the last post, but I hope someone is still there that might be interested!

I worked on the Yacht Sea Panther during the 1964 America's Cup races out of City Island, New York and Newport, RI. I have photos which I will dig out to post.
